Description

Barbagia is a mostly mountainous region, for this reason it has always been a particularly isolated area. The inhabitants of Barbagia have preserved almos tintact their gastronomic traditions, which origin goes a long way back in history. This itinerary brings you back to the past. You will see, discover and try outfirst-hand most representative local food processing such as: Sardinian goat cheese, Sardinian sausage and Barbagia homemade pasta. You will also discover nature and origins of Cannonau: one of the Sardinian oldest wines!

Programme

PROGRAMME FOR MINIMUM 4 PEOPLE 

DAY 1
Morning is free. In the afternoon a local guide will take you on a nature trail, after having seen lovely views, you will reach the vineyard. Here you will go for a walk through the rows to better understand the cultivation of vine and the production of Sardinian Cannonau. Later you will enjoy a glass of wine for aperitif and you will taste traditional Sardinian food for dinner. Everything surrounded by the nature of Barbagia. Accommodation in a traditional farm stay. 

DAY 2
Morning in a fold, you will meet a shepherd of Supramonte. He will show you the surrounding area where the goats live in freedom, you will discover the “Pinnetti” and their use, you will learn the art of Sardinian cheese processing. You will end the tour with a delicious cold dishes tasting, everything homemade from the shepherd family.Accommodation and dinner in a traditional farm stay.

DAY 3
Enjoy this great morning in a local farmhouse where you will be taught to prepare and serve the typical Sardinian fresh pasta. You teacher will be a local person, he will describe history and techniques of their typical products preparation. Lunch is included, you will have freshly madepasta in a magical homely atmosphere. Accommodation and dinner in a traditional farm stay.

DAY 4
Sardinian dried sausage is one of the most common delicacies on the local tradition since ancient times. An expert local butcher will show you all the different preparation steps to obtain dried sausage. He will welcome you in his small sausage factory. His love and talent are the secrets of this practice. You will end the tour with a little taste of this specialty.
